About Us
It all started one winter day in 2005 shortly after Jeannine Camella and Jordan Wood started college. Best friends since they met at the age of nine, Jeannine and Jordan shared a love for photography, poetry, and nature.
They loved to shop for greeting cards together and support their friends with a card at every occasion, especially as email and IM communication began to take over, and receiving a card in the mail took on so much more meaning.
Frustrated by the selection in mainstream stores, where the cards were either too flowery (not suitable for guy friends!), too wordy (a card with a book inside is bound to rule out your particular situation at one point or another), or too clichéd – Jeannine and Jordan decided to combine their talents and take advantage of their gorgeous natural surroundings in Maryland and Pennsylvania by creating a card line all their own. So they met at Covenant Village Camp, the location for many of Amaranthine’s photographs, and pored over cards they had received throughout their lifetimes, choosing the best elements from each as a model for their own line. Jeannine and Jordan continue to oversee the entire process, hand-making each card.
Amaranthine Greeting Cards combine breathtaking nature photography with the most stirring lines of well-known poets and from Scripture, as well as a few lines written by Jeannine and Jordan. They are meant to be vague enough to encompass your circumstances, general enough to be sent to anyone – men and women, young and old – but always beautiful, always hopeful, and always uplifting. So take the ethereal scenery and the minimalist sentiment, make it your own, and tuck it into an envelope for someone who needs it. It is our hope that Amaranthine Greeting Cards will bring you closer to those in your life through the beauty and truth in the cards you share with them.
